I'm a Marine, but I do suppose I'm not the best example of one. I've lived in Okinawa, Japan for the past two years and am moving to Camp Pendelton, CA in November. The Marine Corps has been pretty good to me, but more than likely I'll be getting out in 2012 to go back to school. So yes, I can run three miles in under twenty minutes. Yes, I know the proper placement of the Expert Rifle Badge on an Alpha service uniform, but that isn't what I base my life around. Running is in the top three things I hate most about living, second to country music and barely in front of misrepresenting myself in the name of succeeding in life. That and watching people discriminate against the ideas that they weren't raised with.

Well, I've decided to add random tidbits to this thing as I think of them over the next few weeks. Hopefully when I'm done it'll give an accurate picture to whoever reads it. Like a collage of words. So here goes:

My brother bought me a guitar for my birthday freshmen year of highschool('05ish). I took a class for it sophomore year, but couldn't finish the course and never really learned to play. I've lugged it around through four moves with my family, and it still sits in my closet basically untouched for the last few years. But I haven't sold or gotten rid of it, even though it takes up space and the extra cash would be nice, because I still like to think I'll find the motivation to teach myself to play one day and awaken some hidden musical talent.

I create things in my head constantly. I've got dozens of characters, stories, whole worlds and fairly detailed histories to go with them stored up there(and more practical things, but not for the purposes of this paragraph :D). But I haven't written hardly any of them down. When I try to, it feels like a chore. Whatever spark I feel in the creation is lost when I try to scribe it down to share with others. I get so caught up in the details, the mechanics of it, that it loses it's energy. But I can't accept that, so I'm trying to change it(along with a lot of other things). I want to believe that my stories and characters, and the things they go through and the spark of humanity and inspiration in their lives, could resonate with people. I want to believe that people will eventually look at the things I'll write and see truth and a connection there that they couldn't find anywhere else. I want my stories and characters to inspire and change others' perceptions of the world around them in the same kinds of ways things I've read or watched have inspired and changed me. I'm suddenly feeling optimistic and full of promise just writing this, haha. Maybe I'll start writing tomorrow.

Day two of my word collage project: Anything is possible. It's one of the very few core beliefs I have -- maybe the only one -- and I mean it completely and literally. A swirling vortex could open up as I type this and rip me into another dimension. I really doubt it'll happen, as would any rational person, but it's POSSIBLE. Anything is possible, it just might not be likely based on the laws of reality as we perceive them. That mentality has helped me a lot. I can't remember the last time anything truly shocked me (I'm surprised by things constantly, but not shocked), and thinking about things like that keeps my mind open to pretty much anything. Aside from that, it's a really hopeful thought. Infinite possibilities -- nothing is set in stone. It's the only thing that keeps me going, sometimes.

I'm kind of longwinded... sorry about that, for anyone who's managed to read through this much of it. I might try to edit it down at some point.

Day 3: I don't have a lot of social finesse. My conversational skills are clumsy and awkward at best(though occasionally kinda charming, like a puppy running into a wall), and non-existent at worst. I can't pull off small talk, and I don't do subtle hints. I put very little between my lines for people to read, and I like it that way. So I'm probably not the guy you want if you're looking for someone who's cool, confident, and always knows what to say. I'm not that guy. What I am is thoughtful and honest and genuine. I rarely speak without thinking (too much, most of the time), and I always mean what I say. The best I can do is be honest, speak from the heart, and hope it'll be the right thing to say. Usually it's enough.

1) I am very into writing. I enjoy it very much, and I've been told I'm good at it. I love to write fiction and poetry. I've had a few poems published in various books.

2) I've been told that the best way to describe me is that I'm like a big teddy bear. I guess its because I'm just a comforting person by nature. I'm a cuddly gentleman.

3) I'm a very relaxed person. I can be in big crowds and be alright, but I prefer small groups, or being alone with that special someone. This means I prefer to stay away from the bar scene.

4) I'm random. By me demeanor, you would think that I'm predictable, and if you don't know me, you would think the same thing. However, once I warm up to someone, they get to see the real me, and there is nothing predictable about me. (I'm a dork.)

5) I enjoy getting to know people. I feel that everyone has something to offer, whether it be in the form of friendship or partnership. I am not a discriminating person. I know what rejection feels like, and I would never put someone through that if I can help it.

I travel for work and I try to travel on my time off as much as I possibly can! The career I have provides me with plenty of time off to be able to enjoy life! Typically I work one month and then receive one month of time off. How could I ask for it better!

There is one thing that would make it better...... Someone to enjoy it with! But I am not looking for anything serious off the start. Just friends that hang out and enjoy each others company at first.

What I am trying to say is that I am not in a rush and when I do find that someone I want to spend my life with it will happen. It is hard for me to find somebody that has a life which allows them the time off to go on cool lil trips, enjoy the outdoors and other great things like that with me. I want somebody that enjoys to lay around and cuddle the night away at times also. But that is what I am looking for! So when that day comes... It comes... But for right now I want some great company to be around and who knows maybe someday it will turn into more!

The outdoors is something I enjoy to be in. Music is also very important to me and I like all types. Dubstep is some of the greatest music you will ever hear! You have to check it out if you don't know what it is!If it involves traveling, music festivals, concerts, snow, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, or being out on the lake.... I am down faster than the syndrome. I go out to the bars and clubs every now and then but I also like to stay at home and watch a movie or sit around and listen to music. I love my Ford pickup because I am a country boy at heart and it takes me everywhere I need to go! No matter how rough the terrain gets!

I am not an extremely religious person but I do believe that God works in the most mysterious of ways. He has always led me to where I want and need to be. He has blessed me with being able to go and see the most amazing places and people. There is not one regret in my life.

Everything I own and the career I have was earned or payed for by me! I did not get to where I am at in life from mommy and daddy helping me get it all. They were definitely a big part of my life and have definitely helped by being supportive of me. Even though at times it did not seem supportive but deep down I know it was!

I am employed by a company called @balance. My job title with them is a MPD Control Systems Technician on the off/on-shore drilling rigs all over the world. I could be sent absolutely anywhere in the world at a moments notice!!! Previously, I was a Data Engineer on the rigs for a company called Geoservices before I accepted the position with @balance.

I have made soooo many good friends all over the US and plan on making many more. I am a gypsy and proud of it. How many people can say that they have been to 34 states in the US. Plus, I have been to 4 Providences in Canada! I will see the rest of North America and lots of the world very soon...

I am the type of person that chooses his friends very carefully and will do anything for my family and friends. I believe in always being 100% honest and telling people how you feel. Even though the truth may hurt at times it will hurt way less than when your left in the dark.

One other major thing you should know about me. I am a clean freak. Everything is always organized and spotless around me. My vehicle, my home and my personal hygiene is as if I am always ready for company. Well, that is about it!

I'm currently in college working on my Bachelors in criminal justice. I work and go to school full time and in my free time I hangout with friends and go out to bars and clubs. I enjoy bowling and playing darts I also like to go to the movies and I absolutely love watching football and hockey. I am a down to earth person that does not take everything serious all the time. I love to make others laugh and love to be around good company. Meeting new people and experiencing new things makes me happy. I am honest and loyal and defend those i care about with all my heart. I am the type of guy that by the end of the night everybody knows me and likes me dont ask me how it just seems to happen lol..

I like to think of myself as a 21st century Amazon. Ok, I'm not really an amazon, I just kind of look like one. Ask any of my friends. I graduated from college with a BA in Behavioral Psychology and Political Science: Public Law and a minor in Philosophy. I always planned to be further in life by now, but life is what happens when you're trying to make plans. So, my life has been a little more interesting of late than I'd prefer, but that's ok. It's part of the journey.

My personality tends to be pretty laid back but with a bite. I can be pretty fierce if I'm discussing something I feel passionate about and am not afraid to disagree with other people. I love to laugh. I'm inherently shy, but fake confidence pretty well. I think food is something to enjoy, not punish yourself over. If someone is going to take the time to cook for me, then I'm going to savor it. I'm smart and not afraid to show it, but not in an esoteric, snooty sort of way. I have a slightly twisted sense of humor, I blame it on all the Monty Python I watched as a child. My favorite number is 42.
